What is customer skills training?
Customer skills training, also referred to as customer training, is a type of training or education that companies provide to their users or customers. It is typically best suited for companies whose products or services, whether digital or physical, require training and additional context on the part of the user. This additional context and training can increase customer loyalty by enabling them to get more value out of their purchase.
Examples of customer skills training include demos of new product features for a software as a service (SaaS) company and instructional cooking videos for meal kit companies.
Example: Our customer product training increased customer satisfaction rates significantly, as it allowed them to quickly understand how to use our new tool.
How does customer training differ from customer service training?
While customer service skills training is designed to improve the skills of individual customer service agents or an entire customer service team, customer training is designed to advance the skills of end-users or customers. Both ultimately benefit the end customer, but are geared toward different audiences.
