What is data security?

Data security is the comprehensive process of protecting digital information throughout its entire lifecycle, including safeguarding it from theft, unauthorized access, or corruption. An effective data security strategy protects organizations’ sensitive data from data breaches and cybercriminal activities.

Example: We use multiple data security measures to protect data at our organization, including encryption when sending or receiving any sensitive information or files.
