What is a question bank?

A question bank is a collection of questions that can be used in a variety of different assessments. Quiz questions are added to the bank, and can be pulled out whenever they are needed in a course or assessment.

Example: I add all the final exam questions to a question bank so the questions will be randomized for different learners.

What are the benefits of using question banks?

Question banks can allow for more efficient course creation, as course creators only need to add questions to the bank once to reuse them in other courses.

Some e-learning tools allow you to shuffle questions within a bank so questions always appear in a different order, which can improve the learning experience. E-learning tools may also allow you to show the entire bank of questions or only show a random subset of the questions, which can prevent quizzes from becoming redundant.
