What is a training specialist?
A training specialist is an individual tasked with building educational programs that target key learning goals. Training specialists not only create the training materials and outline the training methods that will achieve certain learning outcomes, but also help conduct gap analyses and evaluate training effectiveness through key metrics and feedback.
Example: Our Human Resources team hired a job training specialist to develop training procedure manuals for roles across the organization.
Training and development specialists can be found in a variety of contexts, including corporate settings and educational institutions. They are often trained in instructional design best practices and rely on e-learning tools to evaluate training programs’ performance, optimize training effectiveness, and create and distribute strong development programs.
Because they work with a variety of different teams and stakeholders to create training activities, these individuals often need strong interpersonal skills to help them collaborate and communicate effectively with teams across the organization.
