What is web-based training?
Web-based training, also referred to as online training or internet-based training, is training that is delivered online. Online training programs offer a variety of advantages for both learners and instructors, including cost savings, scalability, customization options for different learning groups, easy access to training materials, and the ability for learners to complete lessons at their own pace. Web-based training can be used in place of in-person learning or as a supplement to it.
Example: We launched a web-based training course for our remote Customer Service team to roll out our new returns procedure.
What are the different types of web-based training?
In synchronous web-based training, learning takes place for all learners at the same time, whereas in asynchronous web-based training, learning can take place at different times.
A web-based training program can be created for a variety of different topics and scenarios. Many educational institutions and online tutoring providers use web-based training, as do workplaces. Many types of employee training exist, from skill-building opportunities to compliance training courses.
What is web-based training software?
To produce and distribute high-quality online courses with efficiency, course creators typically rely on specialized web-based training software. This can include tools like a learning management system (LMS) and course authoring software. With a web-based training platform, you can more easily and quickly build online courses. Many web-based training platforms also offer options to add interactivity to courses, which can increase the effectiveness of the learning experience.
