Storyline 360 lets learners skip repetitive player navigation controls, such as the sidebar tabs, and return to the first object on the slide simply by pressing a key. This is a valuable accessibility feature for screen reader users and keyboard-only users.

How to Skip Navigation
When learners get to the end of a slide and press the Tab key:
- Screen reader users hear a prompt that says, “Back to top.”
- Keyboard-only users see a temporary button, labeled "Back to top," in the lower right corner of the slide.
Learners can press the spacebar or Enter key to activate the skip navigation shortcut and return to the top of the slide. Or, they can press the Tab key to proceed to the player controls.
How to Change the “Back to Top” Text
You can change the “Back to top” text by editing your player text labels.
- Go to the Home tab on the Storyline ribbon and click Player.
- When the player properties window opens, click Text Labels on the ribbon.
- Scroll to the Skip navigation screen reader instructions label and enter new text in the Custom Text column.
- Click OK to close the player properties window and save your changes.
How to Disable Skip Navigation
The skip navigation shortcut is enabled by default, and we recommend keeping it enabled. However, you can turn it off should you need to do so. See this user guide for details.
