Quizmaker '13: Enabling Right-to-Left Language Support

Article Last Updated

This article applies to:

Text that appears on your Articulate Quizmaker player defaults to a left-to-right orientation. However, you can enable right-to-left language support if you're using a right-to-left language, such as Hebrew or Arabic, by making a small change to your quiz's player. First, make sure you're using a font that supports non-Western text, such as Arial Unicode MS. Then follow these steps:

  1. Click the Home tab on the Quizmaker ribbon, and then click Player.
  2. When the Player Properties window appears, click Other.
  3. Use the Text is read from drop-down to select Right to Left.
  4. Click OK.

Tip: In Update 3 and later for Articulate Quizmaker '13, the previous and next player buttons are reversed when text is read from right to left.

Saving Your Changes to the Player

If you click OK on the Player Properties window and save your quiz, Quizmaker saves your player customizations within your quiz file. It's a good practice, though, to save your player separately, so you can apply the same player customizations to other quizzes.

To save your player, click the Current Player button on the Player Properties window and choose Save. Enter a name for the player if you're prompted, and click OK.

For more details about using the Current Player options, see Saving Your Player or Switching to a Different One.

Enabling Right-to-Left Orientation on Slide Content

For any slide text that you want to display in a right-to-left orientation, make sure the Right-to-Left Text Direction button is selected when you enter or edit the text. You'll find this button on the Home tab of the ribbon (in Normal View), but it'll only show if you have a right-to-left keyboard input language installed on your computer.
