Storyline 2: Adding Slide Notes
Article Last Updated
This article applies to:
Articulate Storyline lets you add notes to each slide, which can be used as scripts to help you record narration. You can also make notes visible in your published course. It's a great way to give learners narration transcripts, supplemental information, or written instructions.
With the release of Update 5, the background color of the Notes panel in Storyline and the default text color for notes now match the player colors as they'll appear in your published output. This makes it easier to format your notes the way you want. See How to Change the Notes Panel Background Color and How to Format Notes in Articulate Storyline for details.
In this tutorial, we'll discuss the following topics. Click any topic to jump directly to that section.
Opening the Notes Panel
The Timeline, States, and Notes panel is only accessible in Slide View. If it isn't visible at the bottom of the screen, click the arrow in the lower right corner of the slide stage to open it.
Then select the Note tab.
Adding Notes
To add notes to a slide, just type the appropriate text into the Notes panel, or copy and paste text from another source.
Tip: When you import a PowerPoint presentation or another Storyline project that has slide notes, those notes will also be imported into your new project.
Formatting Notes
Format notes just like slide text in Storyline, using the font and paragraph options on the Home tab, including:
- Font face
- Font size
- Bold
- Italic
- Underline
- Font color
- Bullets
