At Articulate, we value your right to privacy. We know it's important to you, and we want you to feel safe, knowing all your data is secure. Here’s how we handle the different types of data associated with Storyline 3.

Personal Information and Usage Data

Personal information relates to you as an individual, such as your name, phone number, company name, job title, email, and postal address. We collect these details when you purchase a license, join our E-Learning Heroes Community, apply for a job, request customer support, communicate with us, and participate in surveys, contests, or events.

Personal information also includes usage data related to your use of Articulate websites and services: your internet protocol (IP) address, internet service provider (ISP), access times, browser type and language, visited web pages, behavior during each visit, and previous web page before navigating to our services.

We use the data to personalize our websites, communicate with you, and improve our apps and services. We never sell your information to data brokers. However, as our privacy notice describes, we may share your personal information and usage data with third parties, such as service providers and authorized resellers.

Usage data also includes metrics on how often you use Storyline 3 features and errors that occur behind the scenes while you're working. We use these metrics and error reports to improve our products.

Opting Out of Sending Usage Data

If you’d prefer to opt out of sending your usage data to Articulate, you can change your privacy preferences at any time, as described below.

E-Learning Content

E-learning content refers to the projects you create with Storyline 3. Your content remains private unless you choose to share it with others.

Projects you create with Storyline 3 are stored locally on your computer, where only you can access them. No one else can access them unless you share the source files or the published output.

System Logs

We may ask you to share Articulate and system logs from your computer to help troubleshoot a problem. These logs include error messages and event notifications from Storyline 3, event notifications from your Windows computer, and system logs that store hardware and software info about your Windows computer.

We only use your logs to troubleshoot problems you report with Storyline 3. Then we delete the logs from our servers after 180 days.

To delete these logs from your computer, simply delete the file called “SupportInfo.zip” that’s automatically generated and saved to your desktop after running the script provided to you by our Support Engineers.

We work hard to maintain your trust so you can be confident about the safety of your data as you use Articulate apps and services. We built a robust security infrastructure and hired skilled engineers to protect your information.
