Here are answers to common questions about viewing and tracking Storyline 360 courses in Articulate Online.

Which publish formats should I choose?

Storyline 360 supports HTML5, Flash, and Articulate Mobile Player formats when publishing to Articulate Online.

If you're using the modern player style, you'll get HTML5-only output that works beautifully in all major browsers on desktop computers and mobile devices. Your course won’t have any Flash content, so it’ll continue to work when browsers stop supporting Flash. (If you need Flash output, just switch to the classic player, and then publish your course.)

If you're using the classic player style, your best option is to choose HTML5/Flash output. This combination covers all learners and provides the best experience. However, you can choose any of the following formats when you use the classic player and publish to Articulate Online:

  • The HTML5/Flash option covers the widest audience and gives learners the best experience on desktop computers, tablets, and smartphones.
  • The HTML5-only option is a great way to future-proof your course as browsers stop supporting Flash, but learners with older browsers, such as Internet Explorer 8 and 9, won't be able to view it.
  • The Flash-only option limits your audience to learners with desktop computers and Flash-enabled browsers.
  • The Articulate Mobile Player option is only necessary if your course includes FLV videos with alpha-channel transparency.

Which format will learners see?

The format learners see when they launch your course depends on the devices and browsers they're using and the publish formats you include.
