You may receive an Access is denied error message when exiting a Presenter '09 presentation or when closing the Preview window if the following are true:

  • The presentation includes a Web Object.
  • The Web Object is pointed to a Viddler URL.
  • You are using Internet Explorer.

This is related to Internet Explorer security and Web services, such as Viddler, that call cross-domain XML files upon exiting.  You can correct this issue.  Here's how:

  1. In Internet Explorer, navigate to Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Select the Security tab.
  3. Select the Internet zone, and then click the Custom Level button.
  4. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous > Access Data Sources Across Domains setting, and then select the Enable radio button.
  5. Click OK, and then click Yes to accept the warning dialog box that appears.
  6. Select the Local Intranet zone, and then click the Custom Level button.
  7. Scroll down to the Miscellaneous > Access Data Sources Across Domains setting, and then select the Enable radio button.
  8. Click OK, and then click Yes to accept the warning dialog box that appears.
  9. Click OK to close the Internet Options dialog, and restart your browser.
