Articulate Engage Interaction is Missing

If you import an Articulate Engage interaction into your Articulate Storyline course but it's missing when you preview or publish, please review the following reasons and solutions.

Interactions aren't available during preview

Engage interactions function as web objects in Storyline, and web objects are unavailable when previewing. You'll need to publish your course to see the interactions.

Interactions aren't supported in HTML5 output or the Articulate Mobile Player

Engage interactions aren't supported in Storyline's HTML5 output or the Articulate Mobile Player app for iPad. (See Comparing Storyline's Flash, HTML5, and Articulate Mobile Player Output.) You'll need to view your course in a Flash-enabled browser to see the interactions.

You're working on a network drive or external drive

Be sure you're working from your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Always save projects on your local hard drive, and publish to your local hard drive. Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior due to latency, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes you've made to your project, and loss of resources.

Similarly, hosting your published output on a network drive isn't supported. Place the content in the location for which it was published to avoid unexepected behavior.

Interactions work when viewed locally but not after uploading to a server

Engage interactions may fail to load if the course files corrupted as they were uploaded to the server, the directory structure has changed, or you're using an unsupported version of Java Runtime Environment. Click here for details.

You imported a presentation with an embedded interaction

If you import a PowerPoint presentation into Storyline that includes Articulate Presenter resources (such as Engage interactions), be sure the PPTA file is located in the same folder as the PowerPoint file. Otherwise, Storyline will only import the PowerPoint slides, not the corresponding Articulate resources.
