Characters window won't open

If you're using multiple monitors, you may find that the characters window doesn't display as expected, or it opens offscreen.

This issue was corrected in Update 1 for Storyline. To take advantage of the new features and fixes, download and install the latest version of Storyline from the link in your product confirmation email, or get it here.

If this issue persists after installing Update 1, please do the following, depending on your version of Microsoft Windows:

Windows 8

  1. Close Storyline.
  2. Press Windows Key+R on your keyboard to display the Run dialog box. Or, right-click the lower left corner of your monitor to display the Tools Menu, and select Run.
  3. Copy and paste the following text into the Run dialog box, and click OK:

    %appdata%\articulate\storyline
  4. In the window that appears, delete the workspace.xml file.

Windows 7 or Windows Vista

  1. Close Storyline.
  2. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run.
  3. Copy and paste the following text into the Run dialog box, and click OK:

    %appdata%\articulate\storyline
  4. In the window that appears, delete the workspace.xml file.

Windows XP

  1. Close Storyline.
  2. Go to Start > Run.
  3. Copy and paste the following text into the Run dialog box, and click OK:

    %appdata%\articulate\storyline
  4. In the window that appears, delete the workspace.xml file.
