Combine audio in Presenter '09

You can combine audio in Presenter '09 using the Audio Editor.  The following scenarios are explained in this article:

  • Import multiple audio files to a single slide.
  • Combine existing audio from multiple slides using copy and paste.
  • Combine existing audio from multiple adjacent slides by changing the position of the slide markers.

Import multiple audio files to a single slide:

  1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint.
  2. Navigate to Articulate > Audio Editor.
  3. Select the slide thumbnail from the left navigation pane where you want to import multiple audio files.
  4. Click the Import drop-down arrow on the toolbar.
  5. Select Single file...
  6. Browse for the first audio file you wish to import, and click the Open button.
  7. When prompted, select the Current position radio button, and click the OK button.
  8. After the first audio file has been imported, click the audio waveform where you would like to import the next audio file.
  9. Repeat Steps 4 - 7 to import additional audio files.

Combine existing audio from multiple slides using copy and paste:

  1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint.
  2. Navigate to Articulate > Audio Editor.
  3. Select a slide thumbnail from the left navigation pane that contains part of the audio you wish to combine.  This will select all of the audio waveform for that particular slide.  If you wish to combine all of the selected audio from this slide, proceed to Step 5.
  4. If you want to use only a portion of the selected audio, click and drag your mouse across the appropriate section of the audio waveform to select it.
  5. Click the Copy button on the toolbar.  (If you wish to completely remove the selected audio from this section of the waveform, click the Cut button on the toolbar instead.)
  6. Select a slide thumbnail from the left navigation pane where you wish to add the copied audio.
  7. Click on the audio waveform at the point where you wish to add the copied audio, and click the Paste button on the toolbar.

Combine existing audio from multiple adjacent slides by changing the position of the slide markers:

  1. Open your presentation in PowerPoint.
  2. Navigate to Articulate > Audio Editor.
  3. Drag the slide marker(s) to the appropriate location on the audio waveform, so that all the audio you wish to combine appears on a single slide.
