You may find that En and Em dashes in Articulate Quizmaker '13 get converted to hyphens. This is a known issue. Here's how to work around it.

En Dash

To mimic an En dash, type 2012 where you want the dash to appear. Then select the number you just typed, press Alt+X to convert it to a dash (it may initially be invisible), and change the font for the dash to Tahoma to make it show up correctly.

You can also insert it from the Symbol dialog in this manner:

  1. Type the text as you want it to appear, but leave out the En dash. Then place your mouse cursor at the point in the text where you want the En dash to appear.
  2. Go to Insert > Symbol.
  3. From the Font drop-down, select Tahoma. (Note: You can use the font of your choice for the other text in your quiz. Tahoma seems to work best for dashes, but feel free to test other fonts as well.)
  4. From the Subset drop-down, select General Punctuation.
  5. In the character map, select Figure Dash
  6. Click Insert.
