Grouped shapes may appear smaller when published

You may find that grouped shapes appear slightly smaller when previewed or published with Presenter '09 if each of the individual shapes has a shadow effect applied to it.

This is a known issue.  You can correct it using any of the following methods:

Ungroup the shapes

If the shapes are not required to be grouped, you can correct this behavior by simply ungrouping them (CTRL+SHIFT+G).

Apply the shadow effect to the grouped object

Apply the shadow effect to the grouped object rather than the individual shapes.  Here's how.

  1. Ungroup the grouped objects (CTRL+SHIFT+G).
  2. Remove the shadow effect from the individual shapes.
  3. Regroup the objects (CTRL+G).
  4. Apply the shadow effect to the grouped object.

Adjust the Z rotation axis of the grouped object

An alternate workaround is to subtract one-tenth of a degree from the Z rotation axis for the grouped object.  Here's how:

  1. Right-click the grouped object, and select Format Shape.
  2. Select the 3-D Rotation tab on the left side of the window.
  3. Subtract one-tenth (.1) of a degree from the Z Rotation Axis.  Here are some examples:
    • If the Z axis is currently 0, change it to 359.9.
    • If the Z axis is currently 90, change it to 89.9.
    • If the Z axis is currently 180, change it to 179.9.
    • If the Z axis is currently 270, change it to 269.9.
  4. Click the Close button.
  5. Republish your presentation.
