How to locate version information in PowerPoint and Windows

At times, it may be helpful to know if you have a 32-bit version or 64-bit version of Microsoft software. Or, you may need to locate the full version number of your software. Here's how to locate version information in PowerPoint and Windows:

PowerPoint

PowerPoint 2010

  1. Launch PowerPoint.
  2. Click the File tab.
  3. Select the Help tab from the left navigation panel.
  4. Version information is located in the details panel on the right.

Be sure that you have a supported version of PowerPoint 2010 installed.

PowerPoint 2007

  1. Launch PowerPoint.
  2. Click the round Microsoft Office button in the upper left corner.
  3. Click the PowerPoint Options button.
  4. Select the Resources tab from the left navigation panel.
  5. Click the About button.

PowerPoint 2003 / 2002 / 2000

  1. Launch PowerPoint.
  2. Go to the Help menu.
  3. Select About Microsoft Office PowerPoint.

Windows

Windows 8

Press Windows Key+Pause/Break on your keyboard to display the system settings. Or, right-click the lower left corner of your monitor to display the Tools Menu, and select System.

Windows 7 or Windows Vista

  1. Go to the Start menu.
  2. Right-click Computer.
  3. Select Properties.

Windows XP

  1. Go to the Start menu.
  2. Right-click My Computer.
  3. Select Properties.

Windows 2000

  1. Right-click the My Computer icon, which is located on your desktop.
  2. Select Properties.
