Use triggers to loop audio and video resources in Articulate Storyline. Here’s how:

  1. Insert your audio or video file into a slide, a layer, or a slide master.
  2. Although audio and video resources will automatically start playing by default, there may be occasions when you need to add a trigger to play the resource automatically. To do so, add a trigger with the following parameters:
    • Action: Play media
    • Media: Select the name of your audio or video file
    • When: Timeline starts
    • Object: Select the slide
  3. Then add another trigger to the slide that loops the audio or video resource. Use the following parameters:
    • Action: Play media
    • Media: Select the name of your audio or video file
    • When: Media completes
    • Object: Select the name of your audio or video file

If a Video Doesn't Loop as Expected...

If a video doesn't loop as you'd expect, trigger a short, silent audio file to play in between the video loops. (You can download a silent audio file that's 0.1 seconds in duration here.) Here's how:

  1. Delete the video-looping trigger you added in the steps above.
  2. Add a new trigger to play a short, silent audio file when your video completes. Use these parameters:
    • Action: Play media
    • Media: Audio from File (Import your silent audio file.)
    • When: Media completes
    • Object: Select the name of your video file
  3. Add another trigger to play your video when the silent audio clip completes. Use these parameters:
    • Action: Play media
    • Media: Select the name of your video file
    • When: Media completes
    • Object: Select the name of your silent audio file
