To manage Options:

  1. Click Interaction Properties on the Engage ’09 toolbar.
  2. Select the second tab from the left-hand list of options (the name of the tab will match that of your interaction type and has settings unique to the current interaction; for example, in a Process interaction, the Options tab will be called Process and will have settings specific to the Process interaction).
  3. Specify preferences from the below options:
    • Player Features:
      • Introduction: This checkbox allows you to include an Introduction or not in the published output. By default this option is on. To exclude the Introduction step fom the output, uncheck this checkbox.  [Video Tutorial]
      • Summary: Checking this option will allow you to include a summary in your interaction. After this checkbox is selected, edit your summary using the Edit Summary option in the toolbar.  [Video Tutorial]
      • Volume control: If this option is checked, the volume control shows up in the published output and will affect any audio (or video containing audio, as well as sound effects) in your interaction. This option is on by default. If the interaction doesn’t contain any audio, uncheck this option to exclude the control from the published output.
      • Allow resume: Checking this option will prompt your users when relaunching an interaction whether or not they want to resume from the point where they left off viewing your interaction the last time they viewed it.  [Video Tutorial]
    • Interaction-Specific Options: Interaction-specific options include the following:
      • Process Interaction:
        • Step Numbering: This option will determine how the steps are numbered in the output. Numbering options include the following:
          • 1, 2, 3...
          • A, B, C...
          • a, b, c...
          • I, II, III...
          • i, ii, iii...
          • 1st, 2nd, 3rd...
      • Labeled Graphic Interaction:
        • Marker Animation: This option makes the labels stand out in the published output and makes it easier for the viewer to spot. This option is on by default and adds an animation to each label. Choose from the following options:
          • Swirl (Default)
          • Pulse
          • None
      • Tabs Interaction:
        • Tab Width: This option will determine how wide the Tabs are relative to the text area. The tab can be adjusted from 10% up to 70% of the interaction width.
      • Circle Diagram Interaction:
        • Circle Placement: This option allows you to determine how the text for each segment is displayed relative to the circle. By default the text is displayed on the left and the circle on the right. The options available are Left or Right.
      • Media Tour Interaction:
        • Caption:
          • Allow caption to be a maximum height of X pixels: This option allows you to specify the maximum height of the text caption area in your published output (between 40 and 100 pixels). The text caption will automatically size to show the text as necessary up to the height limit specified here. If more text than that is entered, a scrollbar will be automatically added. The caption area will automatically be hidden in the output for media items that have no text.
          • Caption background color: This option allows you to specify the color of the text caption. The options are Dark background (with light text) and Light background (with dark text).
      • FAQ Interaction:
        • Search: If the Enable search checkbox is checked, the user will be able to search the FAQ questions. If this option is unchecked, the search feature will be hidden from the user. The Search text and the Result text fields allow you to customize the labels used for this feature.
      • Pyramid Diagram:
        • Pyramid Placement: This option allows you to determine how the text for each segment is displayed relative to the pyramid. By default the text is displayed on the left and the pyramid on the right. The options available are Left or Right.
      • Guided Image:
        • Appearance:
          • Allow the image to use X% of the interaction size: This option allows you to specify how much of the available display space the image will take up in the published output. Depending on the interaction and what is most important to convey (the image or the text), you might want to change this setting to fit your content the best. The allowable range is 30% to 85% of the interaction size.
          • Place Image on: This option allows you to specify how the image is displayed with the text. The options are right, left, top, or bottom. For example, if you select an image that is tall and narrow, you probably want to place the image on the left or right to optimize the text area.
      • Glossary Interaction:
        • Term list Width: Set a percentage in the Allow terms to use X% of the interaction width field to determine how wide the Glossary terms are relative to the text area. The width can be adjusted from 20% up to 60% of the interaction width.
        • Filter: If the Enable filter checkbox is checked, the user will be able to filter the Glossary terms quickly by clicking on letters at the top of the interaction. For example, if the user clicks on "A," the glossary lists only terms that start with the letter "A." If this option is unchecked, this feature will be hidden from the user. Use the below fields to customize the labels used for this feature:
          • Unfiltered list header: The header to display when the list of terms is not filtered.
          • Filtered list header: The header to display when the list of terms is  filtered.
          • Clear button text: The text to display on the button that will reset the filter and display all terms.
