Slides shift up or to the right when adding annotations

If your slides appear to shift up or to the right when adding annotations in Articulate Presenter '09, you may need to turn off the Language Bar in Microsoft Windows. Here's how:

Windows 8

  1. Press Windows Key+X on your keyboard to display the Tools Menu, and select Control Panel. Or, right-click the lower left corner of your monitor to display the Tools Menu, and select Control Panel.
  2. Go to Clock, Language, and Region > Language.
  3. Click "Advanced settings" in the left navigation pane.
  4. Uncheck the box to "Use the desktop language bar when it's available".
  5. Click Save.
  6. Reboot your computer.

Windows 7

  1. Navigate to Start > Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Region and Language.
  2. Select the Keyboards and Languages tab.
  3. Click the Change keyboards button.
  4. Select the Language Bar tab.
  5. Select the radio button for Hidden.
  6. Click the OK button to close the Text Services and Input Languages dialog.
  7. Click the OK button to close the Region and Language dialog.
  8. Reboot your computer.

Windows Vista

  1. Navigate to Start > Control Panel > Clock, Language, and Region > Regional and Language Options.
  2. Select the Keyboards and Languages tab.
  3. Click the Change keyboards button.
  4. Select the Language Bar tab.
  5. Select the radio button for Hidden.
  6. Click the OK button to close the Text Services and Input Languages dialog.
  7. Click the OK button to close the Regional and Language Options dialog.
  8. Reboot your computer.

Windows XP

  1. Navigate to Start > Control Panel > Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options.
  2. Select Regional and Language Options.
  3. Select the Languages tab.
  4. Click the Details button.
  5. Click the Language Bar button.
  6. Deselect the check box for Show the Language bar on the desktop.
  7. Click the OK button to close the Language Bar Settings dialog.
  8. Click the OK button to close the Text Services and Input Languages dialog.
  9. Click the OK button to close the Regional and Language Options dialog.
  10. Reboot your computer.
