If a spacing issue persists after installing Update 5 and republishing your presentation, you may be experiencing a related character spacing issue that can occur with some combinations of the following font attributes:

  • Font
  • Font size
  • Font style (bold, italic, etc.)
  • Font color

This is a known issue.  You can correct it.  Here's how:

PowerPoint 2007 / 2010

For an automated method of applying the following workaround to an entire PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 presentation, click here.  Note that the automated method is not officially supported by Articulate.
  1. Select the block of text which contains the unexpected additional spacing.
  2. Select the Home tab on the PowerPoint ribbon (toolbar).
  3. Click the Character Spacing button.
  4. Select More Spacing...
  5. Type .1 in the pt field, or click the up arrow for the pt spinner one time.
  6. Click the OK button.
  7. Publish your presentation.

PowerPoint 2003 and earlier

  1. Select the block of text which contains the unexpected additional spacing.
  2. Increase the font size.
  3. Publish your presentation.

Note:  PowerPoint versions 2003 and earlier do not include a character spacing feature.  Depending on the font you have chosen, you may need to make more than one adjustment in font size before the character spacing issue is resolved.
