When importing Microsoft PowerPoint content into Articulate Storyline, note that most features in PowerPoint and Articulate Presenter are supported in Storyline, but some aren't.

PowerPoint Features

  • Presentation size: If your PowerPoint slide size is different from your Storyline slide size, you may need to make adjustments to the size and placement of objects after importing them. For the best results, change your slide size in Storyline to match your PowerPoint slide size before importing. Click here for details.
  • Embedded fonts: Storyline doesn't support embedded fonts. If a font in the PowerPoint presentation isn't installed on your computer, Storyline will substitute Arial for the missing font. Click here for details.
  • Entrance and exit animations: PowerPoint entrance and exit animations are supported in Storyline and will be imported—though some will be converted to Fade animations. Click here for details.
  • Emphasis animations: Emphasis animations aren't supported in Storyline and won't be imported. Click here for details.
  • Motion path animations: PowerPoint motion path animations that have equivalent counterparts in Storyline are supported and will be imported. Motion path animations that aren't supported in Storyline will be ignored during the import process. Click here for details.
  • Slide transitions: PowerPoint slide transitions that have equivalent counterparts in Storyline are supported and will be imported. Transitions that aren't supported in Storyline will be ignored during the import process. Click here for details.

Articulate Presenter Features

  • Annotations won't be imported, but you can create your own in Storyline. Click here for details.

  • Advance behavior will be imported. When a slide is set to advance automatically in Presenter, Storyline will add a trigger to jump to the next slide automatically when the timeline ends.
  • Branching will be imported. We recommend double-checking the navigation triggers in Storyline after importing your presentation to make sure they work as you'd expect.
  • Slide-level locking won't be imported, but you can use variables and triggers to effectively lock slides in Storyline. Click here for details.
  • Player template settings—such as navigation, text labels, and colors—won't be imported. You'll need to configure these settings in the Storyline player.
  • Presenter panel videos aren't supported in Storyline and won't be imported.
  • Learning Games aren't supported in Storyline and won't be imported.
  • Playlists aren't supported in Storyline and won't be imported. (Slide audio will still be imported.)
