How to Use Storyline Blocks to Embed Storyline 360 Courses in Rise 360
Adding a New Storyline Block:
- First, publish your Storyline course to Review 360.
- Then, in Rise 360, edit an existing lesson or create a new one.
- Insert an interactive Storyline block.
- Click the Browse Review 360 button in the Storyline block to view all Storyline 360 items in your Review 360 personal directory and those in team folders that you have access to.
- Select the Storyline course you want to use.

Updating an Existing Storyline Block:
If you later publish a new version of the Storyline course to Review 360 and you want the updated version to appear in your Rise 360 course, you'll need to add it to the Storyline block again. Here's how:
- In Rise 360, edit the lesson that contains the Storyline block.
- Hover over the Storyline block and click the Edit button that appears.
- When the sidebar opens, click Change and select the Storyline course you want to use from your Review 360 items.
Changing the Width of a Storyline Block:
- In Rise 360, edit the lesson that contains the Storyline block.
- Hover over the Storyline block and click the Design icon in the right-hand toolbar.
- On the Format tab, choose a Storyline Width from the drop-down list: Small, Medium, or Full Width.
Modifying the Block Background
Hover over an existing Storyline block and click the Design icon that appears on the right-hand side to customize block settings.

I published a Storyline project to Review 360, but I don’t see it when adding a Storyline block to my Rise 360 course. Why?
To use Storyline blocks in Rise 360, you must use Storyline 360 version 3.9.13488.0 or later (October 5, 2017 or later) to publish projects to Review 360. If you publish a project with an earlier version of Storyline 360, you won’t see it in Rise 360.
Install the latest version of Storyline 360, publish your project to Review 360 again, then add it to a Storyline block in Rise 360.
For Review 360 items in team folders, ensure you have Editor permissions to the folder containing the item if you're not the owner.
Which player does an embedded Storyline course use, the desktop player or the responsive mobile player?
When you preview a course in Rise 360, you’ll see Storyline's desktop player when you click the desktop icon, and you’ll see the responsive mobile player when you click the tablet icons. Storyline blocks won’t work when you click the smartphone preview icons in Rise 360, but they’ll work as expected in published output on smartphones.
Learners see the desktop player for Storyline blocks when they view your Rise 360 course on desktop and laptop computers, and they see the responsive mobile player when they view your course on tablets and smartphones.
Can I hide the Storyline player when I embed an interaction in Rise 360?
Yes. The easiest way to completely hide the Storyline player before you publish to Review 360 is to 1) choose the modern player style, 2) turn off the menus and controls, and 3) select the light player theme.
Will embedded Storyline courses resume if learners view them more than once?
Storyline courses in Rise 360 always start over from the beginning when learners revisit them.
How do I prevent multiple Storyline blocks in the same lesson from playing at the same time?
Storyline courses automatically play by default on desktop computers, which can cause interference when there are multiple Storyline blocks in the same Rise 360 lesson. Check out this article on how you can prevent Storyline blocks from overlapping.
Can I require learners to complete a Storyline block before moving on?
Yes. Just add a continue block to your Rise 360 lesson after the Storyline block to require learners to complete a Storyline block.
Can I use a Storyline block to track completion of a Rise 360 course?
Yes. Just choose the Storyline block tracking option when you export your Rise 360 course as an LMS package to track course completion with a Storyline block.
What happens if I add an exit course trigger to my Storyline interaction?
Storyline exit course triggers, when they're inserted into Storyline blocks, also close your published Rise 360 courses.
In what browsers do Storyline blocks autoplay?
At this time, Storyline blocks that contain audio or video in the first slide autoplay in Firefox. They don't always autoplay in the latest version of Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, or in mobile browsers.

What happens to Storyline blocks if I delete my Storyline content from Review 360?
When you delete Storyline content in Review 360 any Storyline blocks that use that content will be unaffected.
If I update my Storyline content in Review 360, will it affect my Storyline blocks in Rise 360?
If you update your Storyline content in Review 360, those updates will not appear in Rise 360 until you delete and re-add the relevant Storyline blocks.
Is my Storyline 360 interaction still accessible in Rise 360?
