Typically, audio files that are imported into Presenter '09 get converted to mono (i.e., a single channel).  This is acceptable in most cases.  However, if you need to maintain the stereo channels when importing audio into your slides or playlists, you will need to do the following:

Slide Audio

  1. Your audio files will need to be in MP3 format (192 kbps or higher is recommended).
  2. In PowerPoint, go to Articulate > Presentation Options > Quality, and select any quality settings except the default Optimize for Web Delivery.  (Note that optimizing quality for Web delivery will convert audio to mono.)
  3. You must use the Articulate > Import Audio feature.  (Note that audio imported via Articulate > Audio Editor will be converted to mono.)

Playlists

  1. Your audio files will need to be in MP3 format (192 kbps or higher is recommended).
  2. After creating a playlist in Presenter '09, navigate to the following directory in your computer, depending on whether you are using a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows:
    • Windows 32-bit:
      C:\Program Files\Articulate\Presenter\objects\Playlists
    • Windows 64-bit:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\Articulate\Presenter\objects\Playlists
  3. Open the folder that corresponds to your playlist.
  4. Overwrite the MP3 files in the playlist folder with your stereo MP3 files.  When you publish your presentation, the stereo audio files will be incorporated into your published output.
