Published output is incomplete or "View Presentation" button does not work

If you publish an Articulate Presenter '09 presentation and find that the expected output is incomplete (one or more files or folders are missing) or if the "View Presentation" button on the Publish Successful dialog does not work, be sure that the file path to your presentation and also to the location where you are publishing are both well under the 260 character limit imposed by Microsoft Windows.  Otherwise, any files or folders in your published output that exceed the 260 character limit will simply not get generated.

If your file paths do not exceed 260 characters and this issue persists, you may need to delete your Articulate temporary files.  Here's how:

Windows 8

  1. Close PowerPoint and all Articulate programs.
  2. Press Windows Key+R on your keyboard to launch the Run dialog box. Or, right-click the lower left corner of your monitor to display the Tools Menu, and select Run.
  3. Copy and paste the following line of text into the Run dialog box, and click the OK button:

    %temp%
  4. In the window that appears, delete the Articulate folder.
  5. Republish your presentation.

Windows 7 or Windows Vista

  1. Close PowerPoint and all Articulate programs.
  2. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run.
  3. Copy and paste the following line of text into the Run dialog box, and click the OK button:

    %temp%
  4. In the window that appears, delete the Articulate folder.
  5. Republish your presentation.

Windows XP or Windows 2000

  1. Close PowerPoint and all Articulate programs.
  2. Go to Start > Run.
  3. Copy and paste the following line of text into the Run dialog box, and click the OK button:

    %temp%
  4. In the window that appears, delete the Articulate folder.
  5. Republish your presentation.
