This article applies to:
You can share your custom players and color schemes with other developers and computers. Here's how:
Exporting Custom Players
To share a custom player, you'll first need to export a copy of it:
- In Articulate Storyline, go to the Home tab on the ribbon and click Player.
- When the Player Properties window appears, click Current Player on the ribbon and select Export.
- Browse to a location where you'd like to export the player template and give it a recognizable file name.
- Click Save.
- Share the *.xml file with other developers via email, USB drive, shared network drive, etc.
Tip: When you share a custom player, its color scheme is shared with it automatically. To save the color scheme separately, see the last section in this article.
Importing Custom Players
When you receive a custom player *.xml file from another developer, here's how to import it into Storyline:
- Open an existing Storyline project or create a new one.
- Go to the Home tab on the ribbon and click Player.
- When the Player Properties window appears, click Current Player on the ribbon and select Import.
- Browse to the *.xml file that was sent to you and click Open.
Saving the Color Scheme from a Custom Player
If you have a custom player with a custom color scheme and you'd like to use the same color scheme with other players, you'll need to save the color scheme separately. Here's how:
- Open an existing Storyline project where the custom player is being used, or create a new project and apply the custom player to it.
- Go to the Home tab on the ribbon and click Player.
- When the Player Properties window appears, click Colors & Effects on the ribbon.
- The custom color scheme should be displayed in the Color scheme drop-down. Click the Save button to the right of the Color scheme drop-down.
- Give your color scheme a recognizable name and click OK to save it to your local hard drive. For reference, custom color schemes are saved in this folder:
%AppData%\Articulate\Storyline\2\Frames\StoryFrame\ColorSchemes
Now you'll be able to use the same color scheme in any project and with any player.
