We worked hard to optimize video compression in Storyline, so you get the highest possible quality at the lowest possible file size. When inserting a movie, we recommend using a high quality video. Then let Storyline take it from there.

Here's how video compression is handled in Storyline:

  • When inserted, a video is encoded so it's no larger than the size of your story with a key frame every 5 seconds.
  • When published, a video may be encoded again to accommodate changes to the quality settings, which are found on the publish dialog
