In Storyline 360 and Storyline 3, you can set a course to launch in a new browser window, which adds a launcher.html file to your published output. We redesigned this optional launch page for Storyline 360 (February 18, 2020) and Storyline 3 (June 16, 2020) so it’s fully accessible to screen readers. Here’s an example of the new launch page design.

Accessible launch page with course title, launch button, and "new window" warning

Screen readers announce the course title, the button label, and a warning that the button opens a new window. You can customize all of these items.

  • Course Title: When you publish, enter the title for your course as you want it to appear.
  • Button Label: By default, the button text is "Launch course." If you’d like to change it, type a new description in your player text labels (Storyline 360, Storyline 3).
  • Warning: Screen readers use alt text to warn learners that the button launches a new window. You can change the default warning—"opens in new window"—in your player text labels.
